Cupid Jewellery® "Infina" Bespoke Wedding Band

The Bespoke "Infina" Wedding Band Commission: A Bond Beyond Measure

The Unbreakable Knot: A Design of Intertwined Souls

The "Infina" set was born from a conversation about the nature of time. When the couple first came to us, they didn't speak of flashy diamonds or grand gestures; they spoke of the quiet, daily commitment to staying "tied" to one another, regardless of where life took them. They wanted a design that felt less like a static ring and more like a fluid, living connection.

We centered the design on the classic "true lover’s knot"—a symbol that has represented fidelity and the binding of two hearts for centuries. By using a two-tone aesthetic, we allowed the gold and platinum to represent the two distinct individuals, while the central knot serves as the point of permanent union. These bands don't just sit on the finger; they represent a continuous, unbroken circuit of support, designed for a love that doesn't just endure, but strengthens with every passing year.

The Technical Anatomy: "Infina" Bespoke Wedding Bands

1. Bi-Metallic Construction: Contrast and Harmony

  • Material Synergy: The bands utilize a dual-metal composition of 18K Rose Gold for the "knot" motif and high-polish Platinum for the primary shank. This contrast is achieved through precision tension-fitting, where the rose gold element is mechanically secured to the platinum base to ensure durability and prevent galvanic wear.

  • Molecular Bonding: To ensure the two-tone metals do not separate over time, the knot is fused to the base metal using a laser-welding process. This technique maintains the integrity of the metal at the molecular level without heat-distortion, preserving the crisp lines of the knot.

2. Geometric Integration: The True Lover’s Knot

  • Volumetric Sculpting: The central knot is not an appliqué; it is a volumetrically sculpted element integrated into the bridge of the ring. This requires 5-axis CNC machining to ensure the "over-under" pattern of the knot is geometrically accurate and aesthetically balanced from all 360 degrees.

  • Profile Consistency: The bands are engineered with a low-profile, comfort-fit interior. This ensures that even with the sculptural knot feature, the bands sit flush against the skin, minimizing movement and potential friction against adjacent fingers.

3. Strategic Accents and Finishing

  • Pavé Light Mapping: On the feminine band, the platinum shank features a channel-set pavé of round brilliant-cut diamonds. These are set using a graduated spacing technique that draws the eye toward the central knot, creating a flow of light that mirrors the curve of the band.

  • Surface Tension & Polishing: The platinum sections receive a mirror-finish polish, while the rose gold knot is finished with a softer, high-luster polish. This variation in surface reflectivity creates a depth-of-field effect, making the knot appear as if it is floating slightly above the band.

  • Structural Load Balancing: The width of the bands is calibrated to ensure that the decorative knot does not create a "pressure point" on the palm side, balancing the decorative weight with the functional requirements of a daily-wear wedding band.
